Step by step method

  • Step 1

    Preheat oven to 400F degrees.

  • Step 2

    Butter 13x9x2" glass baking dish.

  • Step 3

    Cut tops and bottoms off squash.

  • Step 4

    Scoop out and discard seeds.

  • Step 5

    Cut squash crosswise into 1/2" thick rings.

  • Step 6

    Arrange in prepared dish, overlapping slightly if necessary.

  • Step 7

    Mix sugar and spices in small bowl.

  • Step 8

    Sprinkle over squash.

  • Step 9

    Drizzle with butter and rum.

  • Step 10

    Cover dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.

  • Step 11

    Turn squash over, cover and bake an additional 15 minutes, or until squash is very tender.
