Step by step method

  • Step 1

    Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.

  • Step 2

    Combine sugar and flour.

  • Step 3

    Sprinkle 1/4 of it over pastry in pie plate. Heap rhubarb over this mixture.

    Sprinkle with remaining sugar and flour.

  • Step 5

    Dot with small pieces of butter. Cover with top crust.

  • Step 6

    Place pie on lowest rack in oven.

  • Step 7

    Bake for 15 minutes.

  • Step 8

    Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees F, and continue baking for 40 to 45 minutes.

  • Step 9

    Serve warm or cold.
